It was a very unique and trying experience, but we’re grateful that we had it. We don’t think that we’ve ever had an experience that was as challenging as appearing on the second season of Seeking Sister Wife. In the beginning, we struggled with public perception and we struggled with knowing if we were actually accomplishing our purpose in being on the show. We don’t know what the future holds for us. We’re hopeful that our family will continue to grow, but that is up to God. All we can do is continue to live the best that we can and seek out His will.

Looking back on filming season two

Now that filming is behind us and the finale has aired, it’s easy as a family to look back and see all of the growth that we’ve had as a family. It was hard at first for us to open up. It’s still hard today, but we’re learning to speak out and to share ourselves with others in hopes of portraying a positive image of plural marriage. The hours filming were grueling. It was hard enough to be lively after long weeks, let alone in front of the cameras. We are grateful for the opportunity that we’ve had to bond as a family throughout this experience.

We’ve never intended to sugarcoat plural marriage.

It has it challenges just like any relationship. It isn’t an easy life, but the challenges are paid off in the blessings. It’s so easy for viewers to draw personal interpretations from the footage they see. We’re prone to doing it as well. That being said, there was so much filmed and so many wonderful interactions in our family that never made it on the screen. As a family, we don’t offer much drama and that’s what a lot of viewers want to see, unfortunately. That isn’t true to us though. We do have disagreements. We aren’t perfect, but we’re all committed to creating daily happiness in our family and to working through our issues and keeping the foundations of our family strong.

We don’t know if we’ll be renewed for another season yet.

If it doesn’t happen, we’ll have to be okay with it. What we will continue to do, however, is to put our voices out there in advocacy for consenting adults to live their lives the way they choose to; the way they believe that they should. We won’t cease to advocate for liberty and justice for all, because that is what is written in our hearts. We’d like to encourage you to continue to follow our blog and our family Facebook and Instagram profiles. We hope to have exciting developments in the future to share with you.
